To my friends here at the GD Forum
Wishing all of you the best!
"They say LOVE your brother
but you catch it when you try"

3 Things in Life:
The Good Book
Good Times
Good Lovin'"

"Jesus did many other things as well.
If every one of them were written down,
I suppose that even the whole world
would not have room for the books
that would be written."

New Years Eve 2019- Rap:
The ALMIGHTY has given us enough in the Bible to know that Jesus is GOD.
and how much did we learn about Jesus this year 2019 / 5780 Hebrew
Well, If you are anything like me the more I learn about Christ
the more there seems to be to know.
So the one thing I would say to stress to everyone is make sure of your Salvation.
Is Jesus your only hope? HE is my LORD & my GOD!
See from that perspective you and I have all eternity to come to know HIm.
But on the flip side, this year blew by real quick for me.
Seems like being over 50, I just sneeze a few times and it is Summertime
which of course in South Florida is a solid 7 months of the year.
But I digress, Studies show a large percentage of Christians come to faith early in life.
So if you are waiting, Statistically, the odds are not so good.
Yet , we have a Messiah who can and does save the very old, the infirmed, the outcasts, those who believed at first they were too good,
and those who assumed they were too bad.
Bible says, "Today if you hear His voice."
Today is the day of Salvation!
Anyway, all the best for 2020
I can truly say that if we focus this year
on the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ
then the world will be brighter
as the Light and Love of Jesus shines thru us..
I just did a quick re read of the Hiding Place
and if God can reach into Concentration Camps
then this hell bound , baby murdering, school shooting
house of worship slaughtering, pre-Apocalyptic America
is just ripe for the Gospel.
It is not how do we size up against others
but are we holy .. for GOD is HOLY, HOLY, HOLY...
At the cross the Ancient of Days offers us Christ righteousness
in exchange for our fallen imperfect life in the line of Adam.
It is God's solution to the catch-22 the Human Race
has faced since the FALL in Eden.
Abraham was ready to sacrifice his son, his only son
to appease the wrath of God.
Yet, God stayed Abraham
but God did not Stay His Own hand
He gave His Son, His only Son.
This would be some terrible tragedy
except we know that Christ has Risen
The Payment for sin has been made.
The Serpent's head is crushed
"Born that man no more may die"
Did you sing it this year?
Always makes me cry!
Sweet tears!!!

Happy 2020
Only one way to be PERFECT in HIS sight
and that is in CHRIST JESUS.

Love,
Chris

The thread that contains my first post. For the record. This on a day when I saw Los Lobos on TV playing on top of a Rose Bowl Parade float.

Ha--you've got your ten yr anniversary under your belt...as Rob noted, it's funny how we can enjoy scanning old posts; we really used to be an active Forum, that's for certain.

Yeah. I had no idea my initial dip into these waters was in response to a Cliff thread. Alas they are no more, what with his Wine Spectator-inspired rating system and those occasional "I need more shows" cartoons.
I miss jerlouvis, I liked his style. Plus nobody to commiserate with regarding the woeful adventures of our New York Football Giants. Some color lost but I still very much appreciate the back and forth with those still around.

Woeful is un understatement but we are here, suffering in silence. Hopefully a new coach can get this turned around while Barkley still has good legs and before Jones is permanently scarred.

I do hope JL comes back- I also enjoyed his perspective on participation here.

Better late than never. I'm still kicking.

Dug in against more of life's curveballs right now. 2 for 2 so far, so if I was a second baseman I'd have a good shot at Cooperstown.

Thanks for that link, Tell. What does it say about us when delving into the past is so much more fun than facing the present/future?

No better way to start the new year than by some looking back and delving.

Yep, go delve yourself.
